Emily Bruni (b. 1975 in Exeter, Devon), is an English actress.
Born to an Italian father who is an academic at Exeter University, Bruni was educated at St Peter's school. Bruni was a member of the Devon Youth Theatre and Exeter Children's Orchestra before training at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama in London.
Bruni starred in the sitcom Believe Nothing as Dr. Hannah Awkward (a professor of pedantics) alongside Rik Mayall. The series was written by Maurice Gran and Laurence Marks. In 2002 she appeared alongside Bill Nighy in the successful return of Auf Wiedersehen, Pet.
Bruni is best known for portraying Helene Dufosse in TV series Marple and the Empress Catherine the Great in the 2005 television documentary Catherine the Great. Emily also played the role of Sarah Woodruff in the BBC version of "The French Lieutenant's Woman", narrated by John Hurt and repeated on BBC Radio 7 on 12 and 13 February 2009.
She has also appeared in BBC Three's television show, Personal Affairs, where she played Rachel Klein and also played Gail, the girlfriend of Jeremy's love interest, in Channel 4's Peep Show.
